Ethereum Classic is a fork of Ethereum that was born out of the DAO hack in 2016. Ethereum Classic rejected the measures to recover funds that were stolen in the hack, and continued on "the original" chain. Ethereum Classic still has many properties that Ethereum had in the past, such as a Proof of Work consensus mechanism based on Ethash. The native token of Ethereum Classic is ETC. Steps To Add Ethereum Classic to MetaMask
