Funding
As a public good, we don't charge users - making external funding essential to our sustainability and impact. Without the funding we receive from larger organisations, we would not be able to continue to provide our services for free.
Optimism's RetroPGF has been our largest funding source across multiple rounds. This retroactive funding model rewards projects that have already delivered value to the Optimism ecosystem and the broader Ethereum community. Optimism's support has been instrumental in allowing us to maintain and expand Revoke.cash as a free public good.
Octant has provided significant funding to support our mission of improving wallet security and user education in the web3 space. Their funding has enabled us to continue developing new features and maintaining our platform without charging users for our services.
Through various Gitcoin funding rounds and grants programs, we have received substantial support from the community. Gitcoin's quadratic funding mechanism has helped amplify community support for our project, allowing us to receive matching funds based on the number of individual contributors who believe in our mission.
We have also received funding from ENS and sponsors such as Boring Security, who recognize the importance of our security-focused tools for the Ethereum ecosystem. Additionally, we are grateful for direct donations from community members who value our work and support the continued development of free security tools for the web3 community.
Data Sources
Reliable blockchain data powers every feature of Revoke.cash, from understanding approvals to flagging risks. We need real-time transaction data, smart contract information and security intelligence to help users understand their token approvals and identify potential risks. This critical data comes from a combination of generous free partnerships and paid services.
Envio is a modern blockchain indexing platform that specializes in providing developers with fast, reliable access to on-chain data through their custom indexing infrastructure. Envio provides us with extensive historic data for many of the networks we support.
Blockscout is an open-source blockchain explorer that supports multiple EVM-compatible networks, offering transparent blockchain data access with a focus on decentralization and openness. Blockscout provides us with historic data for many of the networks we support.
ScamSniffer specializes in real-time phishing detection and maintains an extensive database of known malicious addresses, scam websites, and fraudulent contracts across various blockchain networks. ScamSniffer provides us with real-time scam detection for spender addresses.
Webacy is a comprehensive web3 security platform that provides risk assessment tools and threat intelligence for smart contracts and DeFi protocols. Webacy provides us with real-time scam detection for spender addresses.
We also use several paid data providers including Alchemy, Infura, Etherscan, and Covalent. These commercial services complement our free data sources and provide additional coverage across different blockchain networks.
Technology Stack
Viem serves as our core TypeScript library for Ethereum interactions, providing type-safe and performant blockchain operations. Wagmi builds on top of Viem to offer React hooks for wallet connections, contract interactions, and blockchain state management, enabling reactive user interfaces that respond to on-chain changes.
